The Charles Medal in Physiology was established in 1909 at University College Cork. It was donated by John James Charles. The award is presented to the fourth year student with the highest aggregate marks in the Fourth Physiology Examination. This award is given every year.
Candidates must have the highest aggregate marks in the Fourth Physiology Examination in the current session. Candidates must also be registered as Fourth Year BSc Physiology students at University College Cork. They can also be registered as Intercalated BSc Physiology students. High merit must be shown by the candidate.
