The Government of France and the CNOUS give grants to students in need of urgent financial aid. The grants can be in the form of a one-time allowance of 1,653 euros for temporary financial difficulties. They can also be awarded annually to students who continuously experience financial difficulties. In this case, eligible students are exempt of paying tuition fees and receive an annual allowance between 1,653 and 4,735 euros.
Only students younger than 35 years of age are eligible. The age limit does not apply to students with a disability. All candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme offered by a university in France.
