Adult learners who wish to study at Blackburn College can benefit from the Adult Learner Support Fund. It is instituted by the government to give individuals financial means and benefits to pursue their studies. An individual assessment is made for all applicants and the financial package that is granted is based on their financial need. Some of the benefits that are available through the fund include subsidised travel, subsidised childcare and free breakfasts. There is also financial support to cover fees, trips, books, and subsidized uniforms and kits.
Applicants are assessed individually and must be 19 years old or older to be considered. Additionally, they must have lived in the UK for at least three years and be enrolled in a full-time or part-time course at the college. Their financial status must show that they depend on household income or benefits and do not have any other means to sustain their financial needs.
