General Description
The Icelandic Ministry of Education, Science and Culture offers a grant to prospective students of Icelandic as a second language. It consists of a monthly scholarship of ISK 130000 (currently about 830 euro), granted for a maximum of 9 months (September to April) and renewable twice. University registration fees are also included. Requirements
Applicants who have completed one or two years of studies in a higher education institution and who can demonstrate prior knowledge of a Nordic language will be given priority. This call is open to nationals of the following countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Faeroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and USA. Candidates must provide an up-to-date curriculum vitae and certified copies of their finished university degrees; these documents are required to be written in English, Icelandic or other Scandinavian languages. Preference will be given to applicants under 35 years of age.
