The Consort Education Scholarship offers annual funding opportunities to enable employees of NHS Lothian and the University of Edinburgh connected with the Royal Infirmary to progress their continuous professional learning. These scholarships will be administered by Queen Margaret University and will cover payment of the academic fees only. Applications will be accepted between September and April each year.
Eligible applicants are the ones whose work is connected with the Royal Infirmary and who can demonstrate the support of their line manager and that the nature of the intended course supports both their career path and their employer’s business objectives at the Royal Infirmary. They will be assessed and selected by a panel from NHS Lothian and Queen Margaret University.
Candidates should complete the aplication form, including a personal statement outlining why the prospective student wishes to study the particular course or programme and how the learning fits within the priorities of the service will need to be submitted. A supporting statement is also required from the applicant’s line manager. Candidates applying for short course programmes will be selected based on their written submission, while those applying for the award of degrees or certificates will be based on their written submission and may be asked to attend an interview.
