The University of Strathclyde offers the McNaughton Bursary, valued at £1250, to students who face significant financial obstacles to studying at University or whose circumstances mean they would benefit from additional financial support.
These bursaries are open to students who have joined the University this academic year from a Further Education college or from a school with a low percentage of pupils progressing to Higher Education. Applications will be considered from such students who have a household income of less than £24000 per year as assessed by the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) or Student Finance England, Wales or Northern Ireland. The bursaries are also open to students starting at Strathclyde this year who have spent at least three months in a Social Services care arrangement during their school education, and who are aged 25 years or under. There are a limited number of bursaries which are allocated on the basis of personal circumstances and financial need.
