General Description
The study aid of the August Schmidt Foundation helps orphans of workers who were fatally injured in an accident in the exercise of their professional activities in the mining, chemical and energy sector or who have died as a result of such accidents, such as silicosis, silico-tuberculosis, asbestosis, asbestosis lung cancer or mesothelioma (asbestos). The maximum aid amounts to 728 EUR. The amount will be paid over the period of the normal study time.
Requirements
The programme is aimed at students and doctoral students of all disciplines and degrees. Application for the scholarship is possible at any time of the study. Applicants should have only a low income of their own. It is crucial that the income does not exceed the maximum aid amount of 728 EUR. Applicants must be younger than 28 years. A deviation from the age limit is possible in individual cases by decision of the board. Candidates should be orphans and receive a pension of the professional association (recognition of an occupational or commuting accident or occupational disease such as silicosis, silico-tuberculosis, asbestosis, asbestosis lung cancer or mesothelioma - asbestos).
