The German Academic Exchange Service is offering scholarship programs to help students and graduates improve their German proficiency and their cultural knowledge of the country. The awarded students must attend German language and area studies courses. The student also will have special language/terminology courses. Those courses are offered by the state or a state-recognised German higher education institution.
The courses must have at least 18 days of course with a minimum of 25 hours of teaching per week. Courses are taught in German and held during summer months during the recess period at German universities.
To apply the students must show proof of academic achievements. With that add references or letters of recommendation submitted by the university teachers. Description of the study or research project submitted. A letter from a German university teacher to confirm an academic supervision for the applicant may help the decision by the committee. The documents required can change depending on the student´s country of origin.
