The Student hardship fund for financial support was created to prevent students from shying away from higher education due to financial instability. With this funding, students will be able to fund their studies and pursue their education without the thought of debt overshadowing their future. This was one of the primary aims of Helen Dean when she left a £40,000 to be given to students who had difficulties funding their education.
In order for a student to qualify to receive funding from the Student Hardship fund a testing system is carried out where he/she is analyzed based on his/her means of affording higher level education. The Student Funding Unit is responsible for the administering of such tests.
