Six Postgraduate Research Awards are granted by the Royal Geographical Society each year. They are given to PhD students. The grants support fieldwork and data collection in particular subject areas. Those areas are physical environment; conservation and sustainability; and society and economy. The fieldwork can take place in the UK or overseas. The grant is worth £2,000.
Applicants must be from the UK or EU. They must also be on a PhD course at a UK university. The grant is just for fieldwork and research so it does not support things like attending conferences. Students who receive funding for similar projects from another organisation cannot apply.
