The Ma Kam Ming Scholarship is given that name in honor of his family’s generous benefaction. It is made available by the Bradford University School of Management to students who meet the SoM /UoB admission requirements for entry to full-time MSc courses. The scholarship is available to students who are permanent residents of the Hong Kong SAR, or who are citizens of the PR China. The school of management offers two scholarships for category a) and two scholarships for b). However, they can give four scholarships in one category and none in the other depending on the number of eligible candidates. The amount of the award is determined by the university based on the student’s current fee, the cost of a return economy flight from the student’s place of permanent residence to Manchester airport, and the lower end of expenses for full-time MSc students in Bradford. The scholarships are tenable for one year, and cannot be renewed or extended.
Students should either be a permanent resident of Hong Kong SAR or a citizen of the PR China. Preference may be shown to graduates of a UGC-funded HEI in the Hong Kong SAR, or a HEI in the PRC that is included in Project 211. Management business studies students can also be given preference. Candidates should accompany their initial application with a statement explaining how they meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates may be invited to submit further written submissions such as essays, or participate with panel members in further discussions of their application.
