Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds PhD Fellowships are for students starting a PhD in basic biomedical research. Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds is a German foundation. The award is in the form of a monthly grant. In the UK this is worth 2,400 Euros per month. The award typically lasts for two years but if the student's PhD programme is three years long the award can be extended.
To qualify the student must be starting an approved PhD project in basic biomedical research. It must be at an international renowned lab. The maximum age is 27. Students can be from anywhere in the world. They can't be in receipt of any other form of income though. Students given the award must also prepare two reports to be published by the foundation.
