To meet the requirements applicant students have to be full-time. They must have achieved at least AAB at A level or equivalent. And they should not hold an honours degree. Also, applicants should not be in receipt of any other scholarship or payment programme. Students whose homes are in an area with low participation in higher education will have an advantage. It is also advantageous if the applicant's school/college performs below average. The fact that an applicant's family receives a state means-tested benefit will be taken into account too.
