The National Scolarship Programme is available to students at Newman University College. There are 118 available and they are worth £3,000 each. The scholarships are available to full-time and part-time students, although part-time students receive a proportional amount of the award. So, if a student studies 50% of the full-time course, they will receive 50% of the scholarship. Applicants must come from a household with an annual income of less than £ 25,000.
When it comes to applications priority is given to students with a low income background. Students will also be given priority if they are: care leavers; a carer for a close disabled relative; students who have attended a low achieving school; students whose home address is more than 50 miles from the University; students who have a record of great academic achievement. Students from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are not eligible for this scholarship.
