The National University of Ireland offers Traveling Studentships in the Sciences. These studentships are prestigious and helpful for students. They are open to graduate students only. They have been in existence since 1910. Four studentships are awarded in all branches of the Humanities and Social Sciences. A student is tenable for up to four years. The studentship is only awarded to those who achieve the highest of academic levels so competition is very strong. The full studentship is valued at €64,000. This amount is allocated throughout the four year degree program. Successful applicants are paid quarterly.
Applicants must hold a bachelors degree from an accredited institution. The studentship requires its applicants to have an outstanding academic record and the competition is fierce. Holders of Studentships are required to submit a report, every six months, from their Professor or Director, confirming that they are satisfactorily pursuing the research work.
