The Gaelic Athletic Association (Munster Council) has made funds available for twelve bursaries at University College Cork. This means three bursaries each for students in first, second, third and fourth years of study. They are for students who have reached very high performance levels in their chosen sport. Students must also be a member of a GAA Club in one of the six Munster counties. Each bursary is worth €500. The bursary is awarded in two installments during the year. Students have to reapply at the end of each academic year.
Applicants must satisfy the minimum entry requirements for the College and program they wish to enter. No student is allowed to hold two scholarships simultaneously. And they must be involved in coaching young players in the local area.
