The European Union offers the Erasmus Mundus Action 2: HERMES Programme to support students interested in spending one or more semesters abroad in the Middle East (Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Syria). Grantees will be awarded a monthly grant of up to 1500 euro for doctoral students and 1000 euro for bachelor and master´s degree students. Funding will be provided for a maximum of 10 months.
There are two groups of eligible candidates; group 1 includes students and academic staff of higher education institutions which are part of the HERMES consortium, while group 2 includes students and academic staff holding citizenship of a EU member state and studying or working at any university headquartered in the European Union. For this particular programme, applicants from group 1 and group 2 are eligible except for undergraduate students; in this case, only applicants from group 1 may be admitted.
