The French Institute for Research in Africa gives grants to researchers in the social sciences and humanities who would like to study and analyse the Nigeria Watch project, a database that monitors and compiles violent deaths occurring in Nigeria. Each selected researcher will have to develop a 20 to 30 pages essay using data extracted from the Nigeria Watch database. Scholarships vary in value from 160,000 to 270,000 naira depending on the scope of the analysis proposed.
