General Description
The SPIE scholarship program has 5 annual awards based on outstanding achievement and contribution to the field of optics and photonics. The John Kiel Scholarship is awarded annual to a student with a potential long-term contribution to the field of optics and optical engineering. The scholarship prize is $10,000.

These scholarships are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and contribution to the field of optics and photonics. Beneficiaries are nominated and selected. There is no need to apply.
