What the Elio Conte Fund gives you

You will receive a monthly grant. If necessary, you can also receive a a student room from one of the 20 provided by the university for this purpose. The amount of the grant is not fixed. The ULB Social Services department will determine it for you, depending on your circumstances and the funds available. A family has set up a fund in memory of their son, Elio Conte, a graduate of the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, to help students who have lost a parent.

Who can apply

• You have lost a parent: At least one parent has died. If one parent has died and the other is absent or unable to support you, you can still submit an application, and the social services department will assess your case.
• You need the money: You cannot fund your studies entirely out of your own pocket.
• Where you study: You are studying at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). Students from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management are given priority, but students from all other faculties are also welcome to apply.
• Nationality: You are a citizen of an EU country.
• Your results: You’re passing your exams and making steady progress with your studies.

How to apply

You do not apply to the fund directly. You raise your request during a social interview with the ULB Student Social Service, as part of its general financial-aid process through the MonULB portal. For 2026-2027 you can apply from 24 August 2026 to 16 April 2027 at 13:00.
