General Description
The CSC PhD scholarship for Chinese students (Joint PhD and PhD at ULB) is intended for PhD students from China sponsored by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) pursuing either a full PhD or a Joint PhD programme at the ULB. The programme provides funding for up to 30 Chinese students annually. Student should be undertaking studies or research in one of the following priority fields: Toxicology, Pharmacology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Physics, Health, Biology and Environmental Science, Business and Management, Economy, Sociology, Political Science, Law, Archeology, Journalism and Communication. The scholarship provides funding for 6 to 24 months for students on a Joint PhD programme and up to 48 months for students on a full time PhD programme at the ULB.
Requirements
Candidates must be both permanent residents and citizens of the People's Republic of China at the time of application. Candidates must not be working abroad when applying for a CSC scholarship. Candidates pursuing a joint PhD degree must be enrolled at a Chinese university. Beneficiaries of the scholarship must return to China on completion of their studies or research. Candidates must be formally admitted by ULB. Candidates must have a high level of proficiency in both English and French. Candidates should meet CSC’s eligibility requirements. Candidates should undertake research or study in one of the priority fields.
