General Description
The Fulbright Journalism Scholarship is intended to promote mutual understanding between the United States and Belgium via journalists. The programme is reserved for mid-career journalists in print or broadcast journalism with at least 2 years’ of professional experience, who wish to further their journalism studies in the US. The scholarship provides funding for a period of 3 to 9 months at an accredited US university. Candidates pursuing a Masters degree in journalism are also eligible. The scholarship award ranges from $15,000 – $30,000. It is intended to cover tuition fees and living expenses. The Commission for Educational Exchange will provide J-1 visa sponsorship and sickness and accident insurance.
Requirements
Candidates should be a Belgian national and hold a bachelor’s degree. Candidates should be proficient in English. Candidates should have an excellent academic and professional track record. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in journalism.
