The aim of the Erich Müller Foundation is to promote education in engineering at German universities. In this framework, funding for semesters abroad or research abroad will be provided to students who are studying outside Germany. The support is primarily intended to enable the creation of theses abroad (e. g. Master's thesis). In exceptional cases scholarships are awarded for regular semesters abroad. The amount of funding is 500 EUR per month. The amount will be paid over a period of six months.
The support is aimed above all at students of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering and materials science. Students of physics, computer science or chemistry are supported only if there is a direct practical relevance of their promotional work to engineering.
