In order to promote German-Japanese exchanges, the Japanese government subsidies stays abroad for German students. In this context, students of all disciplines can complete a 18 to 24-month study stay in Japan. The promotion is endowed with 1,125 Euros per month. In addition, the costs of travel for return flights are accepted.
The scholarship is aimed at PhD students, graduate students, young postdoctoral researchers and students in higher semesters. All disciplines are admitted. The scholarship is awarded according to performance criteria. Japanese skills are only required for students within the Department of Japanese Studies - for students who do not have sufficient knowledge of the language, a six-month language course is included. An application on the 31.10. is intended for students of Architecture, Fine Art, Design. The scholarship is aimed at German students who are younger than 35 years old.
