The Thomas Gessmann Foundation supports students studying technical subjects and natural sciences at universities in the state (Land) of Badem-Wuerttemberg. To this end, they award student stipends. Stipends run initally for a period of twelve months and may be renewed for one further year.
Stipends are provided for students in the disciplines of electrical engineeering, mechanical engineering, process and environmental engineering, information technology and computer science, surface engineering and materials science, physics and physical technology. Only students enrolled at universities in Baden-Wuerttemberg may apply; students from insititutions in Northern Wuerttemberg and Nordenbad are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must have completed at least two semesters by the time the stipend begins and must be able to demonstrate a high level of competency in their subject. Additionally, applicants must prove that they do not have the financial means to complete their course of study in the standard timeframe in the absence of appropriate support.
