The Fulbright Commission is the benefactor behind this award. In cooperation with the Educational Exchange Services Department of the Ministry of Educational and Cultural Affairs Bonn scholarships are granted. The goal is to support prospective female English teachers at American Universities. The prospects are working at an American facility for 9 months as teaching assistants. They teach German language and culture. Travel expenses and all accruing additional expenses are covered. An additional installment of 500$ is paid per month.
Prospective female English teachers and lectureship students focusing of English studies may apply for this program. At least 6 semesters within the degree course have to be completed (at least 2 of them at a German university). Graduated applicants must not have finished their final paper longer than 2 years ago. Good knowledge about the American culture is a must. English language skills have to be excellent and applicants must have teaching experience with foreign languages. Only German women may apply. The maximum age is 29.
