The Friedrich-Ebert foundation awards scholarships to students who are studying at a public or officially recognized University. The funding amounts to 1050€ a month including 100€ for their research. In addition students get grants for stays abroad and college tuitions. With its scholarship the Friedrich-Ebert foundation wants to promote young outstanding students who are the first ones to studies in their family and/or have a migration background. In addition students have access to a variety of offers, including work-orientated seminars, a mentoring program and an internship exchange.
Students and doctoral candidate from a low-income household with or without migration background who study various subjects, except medicine at a German University are welcome to apply, if they have outstanding academic achievements and a have quickly obtained their degree. The planned dissertation must also promise a considerable contribution to research.
