General Description
The Rosa Luxembourg Foundation is one of the twelve nationally active scholarship programmes for talented students. Politically, it belongs to The Left - formerly Linkspartei or The Left Party (PDS). The scholarships for international students support foreign students at German universities. The amount of funding is maximum 597 EUR per month (calculated pursuant to BaföG). In addition, fellows receive 150 EUR money for books per month regardless of parental income. The scholarship can be obtained at most to reach the maximum funding term pursuant to BaföG.
Requirements
This scholarship is open to foreign students from all disciplines. Application may be made at any time of the study. In addition to very high professional performances, a strong social commitment in the sense of the Rosa Luxembourg Foundation is crucial for a successful application. The main stress is put on a "current socio-political commitment", e. g. in migration contexts, anti-fascist/anti-racist initiatives, trade union contexts, in academic self-government, the environmental movement etc. Moreover, the readiness of a foreigner to return to his/her home country after the conclusion of the study project should be evident.
