General Description
The Rosa Luxembourg Foundation is one of the twelve nationally active scholarship programmes for talented students. Politically, it belongs to The Left - formerly Linkspartei or The Left Party (PDS). The doctoral scholarships for foreign students are meant to support German doctoral students and educational residents at German universities. The amount of funding is 1.050,00 EUR per month (depending on the personal situation, further grants are possible).
Requirements
For the doctoral scholarships for foreign students of the Rosa Luxembourg Foundation, foreign PhD students of all disciplines can apply. Application may be made only at the beginning of the promotion. Promotions in human medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine are not supported. In addition to very high professional performances, a strong social commitment in the sense of the Rosa Luxembourg Foundation is crucial for a successful application. The main stress is hereby put on a "current socio-political commitment", e. g. in migration contexts, anti-fascist/anti-racist initiatives, trade union contexts, in academic self-government, the environmental movement etc. Additionally, the promotion must be expected to make a significant contribution for each scientific discipline. The readiness of a foreigner to return to his/her home country after the conclusion of the study project should be evident.
