General Description
The Barbara Wengeler Foundation is aimed at "supporting young scientists studying the interaction and exchange between philosophy and neurocience, in particular neurology, neurophysiology, neuropsyschology and neuropsychiatry." To this end, it provides stipends for doctoral students with intentions to undertake particularly challenging or ambitious theses that make an important scienitifc contribution to the area of study described above. Financial support includes a stipend of 1,000 Euros per month plus a contribution of 100 Euros per month towards research costs.
Applicants must have completed their previous studies without undue delay, be no more than 30 years of age on the date the stipend runs out and have graduated no more than a year ago with a well above average GPA. Applicants must be planning a scientifically demanding research project that can be completed in a maximum of 3 years. They must have been admitted onto a doctoral programme at a German university. Students whose doctorates are being funded through other institutions are not eligible to apply.
