General Description

The Philosophy Essay Prize is an award which is awarded by The Royal Institute of Philosophy and Cambridge University Press. The winning paper gets published in the journal Philosophy. The winning author also receives 2,500 Pound Sterling as prize money. The topic papers are to be on is: ‘What is philosophy? How is it possible? What can it expect to achieve?’ When Judging the papers, priority will be given to originality, clarity of expression, breadth of interest, and potential for advancing discussion. All entries will be regarded as submissions to Philosophy and more may be published. It may occur the prize is be awarded jointly in. In this case the financial component will be divided. The aim is to select a single prize-winner.

Requirements

Entries should be prepared in line with standard Philosophy guidelines for submission. They should be submitted electronically in Word, with PRIZE ESSAY in the subject heading.
