National University Of Ireland - NUI Dr Mary L Thornton Scholarship

NUI Dr Mary L Thornton Scholarship

You get 6,000 EUR as the top prize for doctoral research in education. The second-placed applicant receives 1,000 EUR. The money comes from a gift left by the late Dr Mary L Thornton and is awarded by the National University of Ireland (NUI). NUI is a federal body whose member universities include University College Dublin, University College Cork, the University of Galway and Maynooth University. The award supports research in any area of education. Projects on Irish higher education are especially welcome, but all education topics count. Note that the scholarship is currently paused, so it is not open every year.

• Study level: You are currently studying for a PhD or have applied to do a PhD.
• Field of study: Your research is in education, including higher education studies.
• Where you study: You are studying at an NUI member university or at a recognised or affiliated college of such a university.
