General Description

The National University of Ireland offers the Dr Mary L Thornton Scholarship In Education to students who have been accepted at recognised higher education institutions that are linked to NUI. The purpose of the scholarship is to facilitate and encourage students to pursue postgraduate research in education. The scholarship is valued at €5,000 and is offered on a yearly basis.

Requirements

Postgraduate research in Irish education is strongly preferred, but is not compulsory. Only graduates from NUI are considered for the scholarship scheme.
