Norwegian students wishing to study for a university degree in the UK can apply for a Lanekassen award. They are available for students studying bachelor, masters or PhD degrees. There are three elements to the award. The first element is a grant to help with living expenses. The second element helps with tuition fees. This is typically part grant and part loan. The third element of support helps fund travel expenses. The amount awarded varies. It is dependent on things like the course the student plans to study and the student's family income.
Only students from Norway can get this support. They must also be entering a recognised UK university. Their study has to be full-time and end with a degree similar in stature to degrees granted in Norway.
