There are a wide range of funding opportunities for trainee teachers of physics and chemistry. It is, however, important to note that upon receiving this scholarship, the recipient will no longer be able to receive financial support associated with the Department for Education (DfE) bursary. The process involved in acquiring this scholarship is very competitive and applicants with a 2:1 or higher are given preference. Each scholarship is worth up to £20,000.
In order to qualify for the Education and Teaching bursary, the trainee needs to specialize in subject areas including chemistry, physics, biology, geography, history, or music. Trainees who specialize in subjects such as Drama and Art and Design will not qualify.
