General Description

The University of York makes it a point to assist people from particularly disadvantaged backgrounds. The Care Leavers and Foyer Bursary is available to qualifying students. Applicants must have been in the care of the local authority or the national Foyer Federation. The bursary is worth £4,500. When awarded it can either be split up into a cash award and a fee waiver, or it can be used entirely as a fee waiver.

Requirements

Applicants must be a new or returning student at the university. They must also have been in the care of the local authority or national Foyer Federation. They must be full time, and 25 years old or younger.
