The Choral Scholarship is jointly supported by the University of Dundee and Dundee Parish Church. Successful candidates will obtain up to £200 per annum, awarded in two instalments over the academic year, and 10 hours of free singing lessons.
These scholarships are open to students enrolled at the University of Dundee. There are four choral scholarships available, which will normally be allocated to one Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass, although this may vary depending on number/quality of applications. The scholarships will be offered on the basis of an audition that will take place in week 2 of the first semester. The candidate will be required to sing two, short and contrasting pieces (which should be notified to the Director of Music in advance) and a short series of ear tests. Scholars will be required to participate in at least one of the University choirs and to attend rehearsals and services at Dundee Parish Church (St. Mary’s).
