The Atlantis EU-US Cooperation Programme is a programme which offers different scholarships. Funds are provided to partnered institutions in the EU and USA, which will then be distributed by those institution. Students, staff and faculty enrolled in or employed by one of these institutions may be eligible for these awards. The amount and duration may differ, but generally these awards are granted for one or two years. The goal is to facilitate exchange between EU and US scholars, and promote mutual understanding.
In order to be eligible, the students must hold a EU passport or have been ordinarily resident in the EU for purposes other than study. US applicants must be permanently residing in the US, or have a US passport. Furthermore, funding is only available for costs actually incurred, which are not covered by any other funding. The programme only covers Bachelor and Masters courses, no doctoral studies.
