The National Scholarship Programme was created to help students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. In order for a student to be eligible he or she must fulfill both Government and university criteria. The awarded amount varies from £1,000 for students who do not reside in university accommodation, up to £2,000. It is paid as a fee waiver for the full-time students.
In order to be eligible to receive this scholarship applicants have to fulfill the following criteria: come from a low income household; live in the local area; be enrolled for undergraduate study at Southampton Solent University. Priority is give to those who have been in care for a minimum of 52 of consecutive weeks.
