The University of Teeside offers the Peter Atherton Scholarship, whose purpose is to improve academic attainment and employability. Each beneficiary will receive £2,500 each to support accessing a volunteering opportunity in Year 1 of their studies; a work placement in Year 2 of their studies, and to buy course equipment and to contribute to study costs for Year 3 of their studies.
This scholarship is available for prospective students of the University of Teeside residing in a British household featuring in socio-economic classifications 4-8 and coming from a family with a history of low participation in higher education. Candidates must be predicted to gain grades of at least ABB or equivalent.
