Students who are on a degree programme with the College of Medicine and Health at University College Cork can win the title of College Scholar if they get first class honours. Scholarships are also awarded for students on their first, second, and third years of the programme. They are given to the student who has obtained the highest overall aggregate score in the summer exams of the previous year. This must be an overall grade of first class honours. It is a financial prize so students remain liable for tuition, registration, and capitation fees.
The awards are tenable only in the College of Medicine & Health at University College Cork. Students must have completed the program of the preceding year. They must also pass the relevant examination in minimum time. The aggregate score must have been achieved at the first attempt in the summer examinations, unless permission has been given by the University Mitigation Committee.
