The U.S. Government and the Department for Education and Culture of the European Commission offer scholarships to students of the European Union who want to study, research or lecture in the United States. Topics must be relevant to USA-EU relations. Student grants are for a minimum period of one academic year. Research and lecturing awards are for a minimum period of three months and a maximum of one academic year. Successful candidates will receive a monthly allowance of 3,000 euros for living expenses, and 2,000 euros for travel costs.
Candidates must arrange their own placement at a university in the United States before applying for the scholarship. A minimum of three months experience in two or more EU member states is required. Candidates must have a good knowledge of English.
