Camões Institute - Scholarship for African Portuguese speaking students and Timorese students to study at Portuguese Universities

General Description

Due to the cooperation programs established with each of the Portuguese Speaking Countries, scholarships are awarded annually to the University and Polytechnic Education. The objectives are train young students in the respective priority development areas of the country of origin. The scholarship prioritizes applications for nonexistent courses in local education establishments. The target students are national students and residents in the PALOPs and Timor-Leste with no Portuguese nationality. And also wish to attend higher level courses in Portugal. The payment of the scholarship occurs monthly by bank transfer to the account of the grantee. It will happen during the first ten days of the month. This period shall not apply to payments to be made in January of each year. Also not apply for the first month of assignment or of renewal.

Requirements

For apply to the scholarship the student must obtain a certificate of equivalence studies. When there are a greater number of scholarship applications than that predicted the IPAD will review the tiebreaker. First the grade point average assigned by DGIDC. The scholarships shall be distributed in equal number of men and women. Preference will be given to students who have a functional relationship with entities of their country of origin.
