General Description
The Foundation for Science and Technology (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia - FCT) gives every year doctoral scholarships (BD). These grants are intended to students that have the conditions of entrance into the study leading to obtain the academic degree of doctor cycle. The students should develop research leading to obtain the academic degree of doctor. The duration of the scholarship is annual. There is the possibility of renewal up to a maximum of four years. The BD may be in the country, mixed or abroad. In case of mixed BD, the period of the work plan in a foreign institution is dependent on budget availability of the lender.
Requirements
The student who wishes to enroll must have pre-Bologna degree or equivalent. He must have also a Masters or equivalent post-Bologna. The student must have average degree equal or exceed 14 As an exception, be the first author of an original work, already published or accepted for publication to the date of application.
