General Descriptions
The BACKIS scholarship is an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project funded by the European Commission aimed at fostering mobility between universities from Caucasia (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia) and Ukraine with European (EU) universities. There are 3 mobility levels and 3 target groups providing for undergraduates, Masters, Doctorates, Post-doctoral and staff, for both Caucasian students (“Third Country”) and EU students. The grant provides funding for 10-22 months, depending on the applicant’s target group and mobility level. The grant provides a stipend of 1000 euros per month (for both EU and Third-country students) as well as a round trip ticket, insurance and visa fees.
Requirements
“Third Country” Applicants must be a national of one of the “Third Countries”(Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine). European undergraduate applicants must be a national of one of the eligible EU countries. Third Country applicants must not have lived or worked in an eligible European country for more than 12 months in the past 5 years. All applicants must have language proficiency of the hosting country. Undergraduate applicants must have at least completed their first year of studies.
