General Description
The Travel Grant for a Long Stay Abroad funds researchers who need to further their specialized area of research abroad. The grant covers an uninterrupted period of stay of at least 5 weeks and up to 12 months. The grant provides travel expenses as well as a per diem allowance of €66, or €1,650.00 per month. Only one long stay is permitted per year, up to a maximum of 12 months. And only one long stay is permitted per a three year term.
Requirements
You must be affiliated with a Flemish university or be employed as scientific staff at a Flemish (Dutch speaking) or federal scientific institution. You must either be a national of, or have obtained your degree from one of the EEA states or Switzerland, or have held an appointment at a Flemish university for at least a year and for at least part time (50% of the time). Nationality requirements do not apply to postdoctoral candidates but the appointment stipulation applies equally. You also need to have at least one international publication.
