General Description
The study allowance, more commonly referred to as scholarship, is a financial aid granted by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation to students. In most cases, the grant is generally not repayable though there are exceptions where the grant was obtained fraudulently, was paid in error or where the candidate failed to attend class or achieve satisfactory grades.
Requirements
Candidates must be enrolled as a full time student at an educational institution of higher learning. Candidates must be under 35 years of age at the time of application. Foreign students may also apply. Citizens of EU must be resident in Belgium and one of the candidate’s parents must be working or have worked in Belgium. Applicants must be over 21 years old and must have been resident in Belgium for at least 5 years. Candidates must have completed 5 years of education in Belgium. Political refugees must have received the official status as a political refugee. This is a mean based scholarship. Applicants will need to provide proof of income and financial status.
