Heinrich Heine University supports study abroad by students at the university with children under the Family Mobility Grants Program. These students cannot usually be supported by other programs such as ERASMUS exchanges. The monthly stipend is 500 Euros, and the grant also offers a travel stipend whose amount depends on the country of study. Higher monthly stipends are available for some countries. The stipend pays half of the travel costs for each child. Recipients of the federally funded student loan (BAföG) are eligible for up to 300 Euros, but no travel costs are covered. Stipends are awarded for a maximum of 5 months.
Applicants must have children and can be enrolled in any program of study at Heinrich Heine University.
